Tony Lin works with new and established satellite and communications companies, understanding their varying legal and business needs.

Tony has assisted numerous NewSpace companies, including smallsat entrepreneurs, in obtaining regulatory spectrum and imaging licenses for innovative satellite services, including: radiofrequency sensing and geolocation; mission extension; synthetic aperture radar, hyperspectral, and multispectral imaging; on-orbit transportation and deployment; Internet of Things; weather forecasting; and orbital debris removal. He also has over a decade of experience advising traditional satellite companies providing fixed-satellite service, broadcasting-satellite service, and mobile-satellite service.

Tony advises companies on policy and regulatory matters before U.S. federal agencies and international organizations, including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Tony serves on the NOAA Advisory Committee on Commercial Remote Sensing (ACCRES), which advises NOAA on the regulation of commercial satellites conducting imaging operations in space.

Tony has for years been active in diversity and inclusion efforts, serving as an officer on several boards of well-respected diverse bar associations, including the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Washington, D.C. Since 2018, he has served as Co-Chair of the firm's Asian Pacific American affinity group. 

Tony holds a Ph.D. in economics and, prior to entering the practice of law, taught economics at Southern Illinois University.
