Exporting Food to the United States: A Review of U.S. Law and Implications for Chinese Exporters

Gary Kushner and Xin Tao met with Chinese exporters, Chinese food industry professionals, and China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) officials in our Beijing and Shanghai offices to present on U.S. food laws and regulations. Topics included an overview of U.S. food safety and labeling regulations, FDA implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act, regulatory due diligence review when acquiring U.S. food companies, U.S. market entry strategy for manufacturers of traditional Chinese medicine, food additives and other ingredients, and an introduction to pesticide regulations as they relate to the Chinese food companies.
