Over 18 years of combined litigation experience in the US and China, Eugene can help you navigate complexities of China-related disputes. With a deep understanding of the Chinese regulatory and business environments, he helps Western clients proactively confront problems you face when doing business in China. Eugene focuses primarily on internal investigations, local and international anti-corruption enforcement actions, product liability/product quality disputes, and complex commercial disputes.

For Chinese companies involved in international disputes, he serves as a valuable advocate and guide to prevailing in a foreign legal regime. He has been on the ground in mainland China since 2007. As part of his compliance practice, he helps Western companies design and test rigorous anti-corruption policies and procedures with a business-minded approach. He conducts internal corporate investigations in native language, and regularly meets with regulatory bodies in the US and China that are conducting enforcement actions against clients.

Alongside our corporate practice, Eugene conducts anti-bribery due diligence to help you avoid further problems in China. He also works closely with our international products practice, advising on product liability and product recall matters in China. As a former food and drug attorney, he has particular knowledge of issues facing life sciences companies, from commercial bribery investigations to product liability cases involving clinical trials and serious adverse reactions.
